Miracles….

Erika and Ellis
What if I were to tell you that a certain sweetie spent her first 4 years rocking back and forth in a crib; neglected, hungry, alone?

What if I were to tell you that in her home country, it was not unusual for parents who have children with special needs to leave them at the hospital?

What if I were to tell you that for an unknown reason, at 4 years of age, our daughter was moved from a laying room to a SN orphanage where a worker taught her how to speak, and eat, and go to the bathroom?
What if I were to tell you that she didn’t have visitors, ever; UNTIL…. a Ukrainian minister started to visit that orphanage and gave her attention?

What if I were to tell you that her very dearest friend was adopted into the United States and she was separated from the one person she loved dearly?

What if I were to tell you that her little friend’s first adoption didn’t work out, and that her best friend became OUR daughter the next year?

What if I were to tell you that 6 weeks after her friend came to live with us, she told us all she could about Sweetie 3?
ERika and Sarah OrphSki
What if I were to tell you there was great excitement in our home when we sent our dossier off to bring two little girls together that were meant to be?

What if I were to tell you on the VERY DAY our “INTENT TO ADOPT” letter arrived on the orphanage director’s desk, Sweetie 3 was packed and waiting to leave for a mental institution, where she would have remained the rest of her life?

What if I were to tell you that the Orphanage director contacted us directly asking if we for sure were going to adopt her?

What if I were to tell you when we arrived, she came in and sat between us, her very first visitors, besides that minister, and stroked our faces saying, “My Precious Mother, My Precious Father, where have you been? “I’ve been waiting 50 years!”

What if I were to tell you that 5 months after Sweetie 3 came home, she had to have her feet amputated?

What if I were to tell you that  1 year after that she had to have hip reconstruction surgery to place her leg in the right direction?

What if I were to tell you that  most people would not have considered Sweetie 3 for adoption because she didn’t have “minor correctable issues”.

What if I were to tell you that Sweetie 3 is one of the most AMAZING and BRAVE people I know?

What if I were to tell you that  she has been a blessing in our lives since the day we met her?

And what if I were to tell you that her Bravery this week caused her to SKI down a Mountain???
YES!  From Laying room, considered NOTHING…. To our OWN PERSONAL CHAMPION!
